'Stags & Hens' is a brand new series for BBC Northern Ireland that will deliver an insight into the very different lives of very different Northern Irish couples and their family and friends as we follow them from their stag and hen parties right through to the drama of the Big Day itself.
Just as there are thousands of weddings each year in Northern Ireland there are thousands of tales to be told. We are hoping to explore the multi-cultural manner in which others celebrate the coming together of 2 people. There are as many types of stags and hens, as there are diverse communities in Northern Ireland. From the coquettishly classy, to the chaotically comedic – right through to the culturally intriguing. It doesn’t matter who it is, or where it is, we want to be invited!
Wherever the party is we want to be there!
Whether it’s Belfast or Berlin we want to go...
If it’s Paintballing or Pampering we want to see it...
If it’s a ‘bangles and milk’ ceremony or a pink limo we want to hear all about it...
Drunken Debauchery or Tea & Scones we want to be invited!
We want to meet the major players – the best friends, the family, the sisters and brothers-in-law and hear all their opinions on the intended other half! Everyone has something to say on the matters of men, women and modern marriage… and we’ll be there to hear it!
Each episode takes us to the morning of the Big Day itself, and ends with a front row seat at the wedding ceremony. Oh, and let’s not forget the reception.

Auditions for possible couples will be taking place in the Holiday Inn, Belfast on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th March 2008.
