The Schools’ Cup double-header of finals on St Patrick’s
Day will be shown live on BBC Two NI. Coverage of the two games from
Healy Park, Omagh and Ravenhill on Tuesday, March 17 starts at 1.00pm.
First up is the MacRory Cup Gaelic football final at Healy Park, presented
by Austin O’Callaghan. Throw in is at 1.15pm with holders St Patrick's,
Dungannon taking on Omagh CBS with Mark Sidebottom in the commentary
box, and expert analysis from Martin McHugh.
If you're watching on digital TV, viewers can press the red button on
their remotes for a choice of commentary streams. Along with fans’
commentary with views from two pupils from each school, there will be
the chance for viewers to hear commentary in Irish.
At 2.45pm the action switches to rugby at Ravenhill for the Ulster Schools
Cup final between the holders Methodist College and fierce city rivals
Royal Belfast Academical Institution, presented Jackie Fullerton. Jim
Neilly is joined in the commentary box by former international Jonny
Bell, while Gavin Andrews is on the touchline for reaction from fans
and players on Schools’ rugby’s biggest day.
Alternative commentary on this game includes two Methody and RBAI fans
giving their ‘take’ on the live action.
