About the Programme

Angie Best and a team of experts are invited to give six local couples a ‘marriage makeover’ in an uplifting and emotionally charged new reality series with a twist on BBC One Northern Ireland.

The six-part series is produced by Green Inc. Film and Television Ltd for BBC Northern Ireland and is set to revamp husbands and re ignite the spark in the marriages of the six featured couples.

Green Inc. describe the series as, “Inspirational, real life love stories each of which celebrate marriage and highlight all the fun, commitment and hard work any relationship needs for happiness and survival.”

It’s a well known saying that the course of true love never runs smooth - this series empowers the couple featured on each programme to hold up the mirror on the current state of their marriage and then get practical advice on making it stronger and happier.

Angie finds out how each couple want to improve their relationship and then brings in her team to get to work. The wife is sent off for two days and the husband’s makeover begins. The experts include David Kavanagh a systemic family therapist, Kevin Dundon, one of Ireland’s Michelin starred chefs and Cathy Martin, stylist to the stars.

Viewers can expect romance and revelations, tears and hopefully triumphs! The first couple to feature will be Claire and Delwyn Warke from Bangor. Claire, originally from Peterborough and
Delwyn from Portrush, a building control officer, have been married for six years and have two children.

No two programmes are exactly the same, just like no two marriages are exactly the same, but each one delivers viewers an entertaining and often emotional insight of modern relationships in Northern Ireland.

Angie Best said: “The sanctity of marriage is precious and so it’s nice to give a helping hand to those committed to it.” Stephen Stewart, executive producer, added: “If you think this series is just about giving husbands a hard time then you are in for a few surprises and we hope the series strikes a chord with every viewer, whether married or not.“
