Top dog whisperer Keith Mathews with presenter Kim Lenaghan and some badly behaved pooches
About the Programme

Good Dog Bad Dog sees Keith deal with aggression, constant barking, furniture wrecking and downright disobedience as he guides both dogs and their owners through basic training.

In the company of presenter Kim Lenaghan, the series follows Keith through his six-week course aimed at transforming canine delinquents into perfect pets.

Under the spotlight are seven dogs with a variety of behavioural and psychological problems.

Tim and Emma are an engaged couple from Bangor whose lurcher Roxy loves people but has issues with other dogs.

New mum Christina Wallace from Belfast, who is married to Ulster rugby star Paddy Wallace, finds it impossible to walk her baby when her Tibetan terrier Sasha and miniature schnauzer Rudi.

Vicky and Sheldon, an engaged couple living in Carrickfergus, have an 18-month-old Kerry Blue terrier called Oscar, who pulls on the lead to get to other dogs and chews everything in the house, from chairs to electrical cables.

John and Graham from Broughshane are the owners of a boxer called Molly, who refuses to come back when called and runs rings around her owners.

Maurice and Averil from Portadown own a Jack Russell terrier, a rescue dog named Tina, who is extremely aggressive to dogs, people, children, cyclists, prams...in fact just everyone and everything.

Hillary Clark, who lives in the countryside near Hillsborough, has a six-year-old labrador named Jess, who has behavioural problems concerning livestock.

Keith teaches the owners how to appreciate that it’s not always the cast that their dogs are downright naughty.

Some of the animals have genuine behavioural and psychological problems and some of the owners have their own difficulties too, especially when it comes to dealing with their dogs.

Good Dog Bad Dog was filmed on location over a period of six weeks, in the owners’ homes and at Keith’s base in Tandragee.

In the final programme, the results are judged in the King’s Hall, Belfast by a top UK obedience judge.

Good Dog Bad Dog is produced by Waddell Media.
