Student Life Diary

Year 3, Diary entry 29. 25 May 2004.

Two modules down two to go! I’m more or less on the home straight now and I just wish my exams were sooner. I don’t mean I can’t wait for them, I mean I can’t wait for them to be over! After handing in a handful of coursework I’m now left with my anthropology exam and music recital. It mightn’t seem like much but once you actually start to study for them it soon becomes apparent just how little I’ve done this semester!

I have been good though and started my revision early. I have discovered that the main library in Queen’s has brilliant views of Belfast, so while I’m sitting revising I can see Harland and Wolff, the Waterfront Hall, City Hall and the ‘Europa’ hotel. It almost makes sitting in the library for several hours a day seem OK, but doesn’t help much with my revision!

Most of the girls are finished their exams and are making sure they rub it in! Nicola has been bouncing round the house all week complaining of being bored because she’s nothing to do! Mark is no better and between them they’ve helped procrastinate for most of the week!
I did eventually get down to work in the main library but after a couple of days of revision my brain was getting overloaded with information, so on Friday night Nicola and I decided to gate-crash the boys night out in the union for a couple of drinks!

The union, though, was strangely quite bare, with only a handful of student propping up the bar! I felt guilty knowing it was quite because everyone else was home revising! It was quite nice though to have no queues at the loo and more importantly none at the bar!
