Student Life Diary

Year 3, Diary entry 22. 7 April 2004.

I think this week will go down in recorded history as being my worst ever week at school. It just so happened that all my lecturers decided to make me hand in coursework within days of each other, I had a lunchtime recital to practise for and the QUB orchestra concert was also this week. I have never needed alcohol so badly!!!

The first thing I had to get sorted was my coursework, but of course that required readings the size of encyclopaedias so I’m not expecting any great results back from the essays I handed in! The lunchtime recital was awful, I was so nervous I nearly cried, but the whole house and mum and dad came to support me and Niall, but I’m still not convinced that I can actually play the cello!

The QUB orchestra concert wasn’t too bad, a couple of mistakes but by the time it was over all the free drink had been set out so I was beginning to forget my horrible week!!

Come Friday though I was looking forward to the weekend celebrations for Nicola’s birthday! I made her a special birthday cake (it even had fancy icing on it!) and Ross was able to go out, even though he had work the next day!

We discovered the Union was shut so had to trek down to Auntie Annie’s for one (literally because we got chucked out after 11!). We were all in a bit of a state by the time we got home, particularly the birthday girl, but the funniest thing was when we got home and Caroline was disgusted to find someone had ‘stolen’ her vodka. I did try and explain that she had just drunk it before we had left the house, but she’s still looking for the culprit!!!
