Student Life Diary

Year 3, Diary entry 21. 29 March 2004.

With just over a week to go until the Easter holidays I’ve already tried to get into the holiday routine of never getting out of bed (unless it’s to watch ‘Neighbours’!), but for some strange reason this week I’ve actually had to get up and do some work.

Admittedly I had a lot on my plate and should have started sooner but it just seemed to pile up!! I had an essay due and some serious cello practise to get done. I eventually managed to hand the essay in on time but with all this running about between libraries and practise rooms I thought I’d take some time out on Wednesday night.

I haven’t been to one of the Union’s comedy nights in a while but it was great craic the last time we went. It was meant to be one of those nights where we had a pint or two and just went straight home after the comedy. Needless to say a couple of pints later the show was finished so we just retreated to the nearest bar from Mandela Hall - the Bunatee!

We meet the boys (Mark, Colm and Alastair) who had obviously been spending far too much time in the upstairs bar. Colm was nearer to passing out drunk than sober and Alastair was closer to falling down than anything.

We almost got barred from the union thanks to Colm’s dancing but I have to admit it was quite spectacular dancing (which I think scared everyone else!) We did manage to get home safely but for some strange reason I slept in for class the next day. I don’t know whether it was the excessive dancing or the drinks that’s to blame!!!
