Laura, Burnley
My mum Angela looks after me and gives me a clean house and nice things to wear.

Samantha, Florida

My mom Nancy is the best because she cares for me and my brother, and also pays all of our bills and buys us food. I love her so much because she is almost always smiling and laughing. Me and my mom are so close that when she is sad, I feel sad, when she is happy, I feel happy, and when shes nervous, im nervous. She is very responsible and she keeps our house clean. She makes the best lasagna and the greatest beef stroganoff. My mom is young and adventurous and loves to go see movies or go to the mall with me. I hope this mother's day will be the best and she will never forget it, she deserves it. Out of all of my friends moms I meet, my mom cooks better food, shes more nice but she doesnt let me do whatever I want,I love my mom more than anything else, and she has to put up with alot. My brother is 6 years old going on 7 and i am 12, my brother is hyper and i am quite a complainer. My mom gives me and my brother the best advice and is always there for me when someting! sad happens. This mothers day means so much to me, and I want her to enjoy it. I love my mom, and nobody can debate the fact that she is the best mother.

Becky, East Sussex

My mum
Caz (She hates that! It's Caroline really!) is the best, because she's my mum. She's the most amazing woman created on this planet. She has put up with me and my older sister, and is still training my younger sister. Look at my older sister who is reaching the age of 21, and she's perfect. Beautiful, Intelligent and generally nice. She's an amazing person (but she isn't a mum yet, so no further mention for her...)
I'm in the dreaded teenage years, and obviously my sister was too, and yet my mum copes with it, very well I must add and keeps us on the right track. She has taught me everything I know, and without her I would be nothing. I would give my life up for her.
She has had some 'not very nice' blokes in the past (1 being my dad!), but still she keeps that bright smile on her face and shows me and my sisters it's all alright.
I've grown up without a dad, but since he left my mum has been both parents to me. I don't need anyone else on this earth other than my mummy. She has taught me wrong from right, and if I do wrong, she teaches me, as she does every day. She has brought us all up so well, and given us everything we could ever ask for. My mum is my inspiration, and I love her with everything I've got. One day I hope I can be half the woman (and mum!!) she is.

Anne Overcash, Florida nominates her sister, Yvonne Crozier,
Yvonne will be a widow of one year. In April her husband died suddenly. She has 2 great boys; Matt and Ben. She has been their strength. She's a modern mum....she knows how to stay in touch with her kids. This makes a HUGE difference.

Kylie, Belfast
My mum is the best ever. I can tell my mum anything and she's always there to listen to me when I have any problems. She is always thinking of me and my wee brother George who is sometimes a handful. My mum is more like a sister than a mum, she dresses really young and she helps me pick all my clothes. Whenever she goes out to get herself something new, she ends up buying for me and my brother and she never gets anything. My mum's parents both died when she was 17 and she didn't have any help with us as all her family live in England except for one sister. She had it very hard but she never complains about anything she just gets on with it. My mum is the best mum ever.

Grace McCrory, Belfast
My mum is the best because she puts up with me, a mood-swinging teenager (age 14) and is always there for me whenever I have a problem.

Veronica, New Zealand
I don't have my mum, Evelyn, with me now but I'd like to tell people what a wonderful woman she was. My dad and mum had 11 children, we never went without, they were always there for us. We had great times with our mum. Even when she was sick she still had time for us. Mum left us three years ago and we miss her dearly. You don't need a special day to love your mum, treat every day as if it was your last. You'll never know how much you will miss them until they are gone. My mum walks beside me every day and I talk to her often.

Amy, England
My mum is the greatest mum in the world because she has managed to put up with me for fifteen years. I know how difficult I am to live with and if I was her I wouldn't cope.
So much has happened to my mum, my dad used to have affairs while she was working full time, on top of having to be a full time, cook, cleaner, and general housewife.
Then my dad was sent to prison when I was five, my mum had to be put through going to court, being in the papers and it, of course, had nothing to do with her. She never made a fuss, she always kept up a happy front for my benefit.
We lost everything, our house, we had no money. We had to move every year as we couldn't afford the rent. But she made sure that I never went without anything, she put me first always, I don't think she even put herself into the equation when she decided what to do.
She has never had a boyfriend, and since we moved counties she hasn't had any proper friends either. When I was younger I used to try and stop her from going out to see her friends and she just put up with it.
When I was eleven I was in hospital for two weeks and not once did she leave my bedside. She has always helped me with everything, when I was bullied at school about my dad, with school work, she always encouraged me to be ambitious and do my best.
She sacrificed everything to keep me happy and help me to have a normal life, and I never saw it, I used to see what everyone else had and think I was going without, however, when I look back I see how much I had and how much she didn't have.
She went without so much for me and I never realised it until recently when I have been able to see all the things she did that I took for granted, she never let me realise what she gave up as she was so selfless. I love my mum so much, and even now I know that I don't show it enough. I owe everything that I am to my mum, if she hadn't encouraged me to always do my best I wouldn't have anything but as it is I am in the top set for everything at school and top of the class in some.
I am taking 13 GCSEs and I could have achieved none of this without my mum, she could easily have had a nervous breakdown after what happened to my dad but she was strong for me, she only thought of me.
She has managed to drag herself up, we now own a house and she is saving up every spare penny so that I can go to Oxford University (if I get the grades).
I want this Mother's Day to be the best ever. But also to carry it on throughout the year. I can't imagine there possibly being anyone in the world as incredibly special, wonderful, loving, and caring as my mum. I love her to bits!
