It's a rainy day in the tree, the perfect day for a story but Potto, Hilda  and Archie can't agree on the best way to tell a good story. Oscar the Grouch pays them a surprise visit and helps them with the question ‘What is a good way to tell a story?’

Hilda's entering a contest in which she has to write an essay on why her home is special. A question comes in ‘Why should we plant trees?’ In search of an answer Hilda travels to Londonderry and Donegal with some children to plant trees with the Woodland Trust.
