ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Lydia and Matthew, our two junior presenters, love animals and in this unit of three programmes they explore ways in which we can care for some of the creatures around us. The programmes are based on the skills and qualities needed in providing for the health and welfare of tame animals at home and wild animals living in captivity.
As we continue our investigation into animals, Lydia and Matthew explore Belfast Zoo. The programme introduces some of the animals and characters around the zoo and various themes are set up. The children meet Alan, the elephant and giraffe curator and have the opportunity to meet the animals first hand (or should that be paw?) The children then meet another Alan who helps the children to wash Jodie the elephant. As with the previous two programmes in this unit, the animals can speak for themselves!
