ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Two pupils ask a part-time disc jockey about her skills. Through musical excerpts she explains how and why a disc jockey mixes records. The programme also explores the importance of maintaining a steady pulse in dance music and how DJs can compose their own music by altering existing recordings.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the programme pupils should be able to:
- how sounds can be altered or combined through the use of Music Technology;
- how a musician or a DJ can alter a piece of music or a recording to suit an occasion or individual tastes;
- tempo/speed and the importance of maintaining a steady pulse in dance music.
