Radio Series - Pre-school / lower Key Stage 1 - BBC Radio Ulster MW 1341 KHz - Tuesday: 11.40 - 11.51 am
Join the Hurley-Burley Man Chris Ward as he arrives each week in his Hurley-Burley Van, packed full of stories, rhymes, poems, songs and craic!

Early numeracy and literacy skills and concepts are introduced through a mixture of stories, poems, rhymes and songs, and using familiar speech and language. The programmes invite the young listeners to respond to direct questions, to join in the actions or the words of the songs and to share in the enjoyment of good stories enhanced by the use of sound effects. The programmes encourage the appreciation of music and the participation in a range of musical activities.

The series provides material linked to the five areas of learning: Expressive Arts; Language and Literacy; Mathematics and Numeracy; Personal Development; The World Around Us.
