Aim of the series
"Study Ireland" is produced to help widen children's interests, knowledge and experience of their own and other countries. This term the strand offers a unit of dramatised tales of the supernatural originally produced in Irish as "Seanchaí". It is hoped that these programmes will help with creative and imaginative writing in English.

Before the lesson
Read the programme notes and, if you can, view a recording of the programme. If your VHS recorder has a digital counter, make a note of where each sequence of the programme is, so that you can find and replay it easily.

This series is provided by the BBC at the request of the Education Broadcasting Council for Northern Ireland.
