A Bit of Belfast

'L' has taken us on a whistle stop tour of Belfast.

This is the City Hall. Lots of important events happen in this building like important meetings, tours and lots more. Other events take place in the grounds, like the Continental Market. Some people just like to chill out sitting on the grass.

All the shop-a-holics shop here with over 50 shops and lots of places where you can just sit down and have a cup of coffee or a light snack. There is also a place where the younger children can play.

Belfast Castle

Belfast Castle

This is Belfast Castle and it is full of interesting history. It sits of the slopes of Cave Hill and looks out over Belfast.

You can rent out bits of the castle to have parties or weddings and there is an adventure playground in the grounds.

St George's Market

St George's Market

St George's Market is near to the centre of Belfast. For a long time it was very shabby but it has been refurbished over the last few years.

The main market is on a Friday morning.

The market sells everything you could need. There are clothes, plants, jewelry and lots more.

There are lots of food and vegetable stalls This picture is of a fish stall.

The market also opens on Saturdays. There is often live music and there are stalls where you can buy coffee, cakes, crepes and Breakfast Sodas. Soda Bread is a type of bread that comes from Ireland.
