Walking and Cycling
Image of a Cyclist

In the days before cars were commonplace, people thought nothing of walking or cycling miles to a destination. These days people are inclined to walk less and less.

A vicious circle has begun where people take to their cars even for short journeys, because roads are increasingly dangerous places to walk or cycle because of the volume of fast moving traffic and the resultant pollution.

Warning: Death rates for child pedestrians in the U.K. are the second highest among Western European dountries
