Then and Now

Between 1851 and Queen Victoria's death in 1901, Belfast's population grew from 87,000 people to 350,000 people. The small town had become a booming industrial city and much of Belfast's heavy industry was concentrated in and around the River Lagan.

Explore Belfast, past and present, through our photo gallery.
