St Columb's Park House (conference & reconciliation centre)

Set up in 1994 as a centre for reconciliation and a safe venue, St Columb's Park House seeks to contribute to peace-building and social inclusion through projects promoting active citizenship, democratic pluralism and a culture of human rights.

What we do

Our current projects include:

  • Education for Citizenship: supporting schools & youth groups in enhancing skills appropriate to the development of young people as active citizens in NI.
  • Political Youth Wings: North-South and UK/Republic of Ireland conferences for young political party members, addressing policy issues of common concern.
  • Foyle Youth Bank: grant-making committee of young people distributing funding to youth-led projects.
  • Impetus Human Rights Award Scheme: promoting good practice in human rights education in schools and youth organisations.
  • Engage Youth: NI-wide political education programme, in partnership with NI Youth Forum. Includes ‘committee’ simulation exercises held in Northern Ireland Assembly.

Other activities

  • We provide conference and residential facilities ideal for youth groups. If required, we can help you plan and facilitate activities such as cross-community events, human rights/citizenship projects and theatre workshops, to address challenging social issues.
