You must be between 13 and 19 years old to enter Blast competitions as at the closing date. If you are under the age of 16 you must obtain permission from your parent/guardian before you enter this competition.

You can enter one documentary idea per production team for this competition.

Documentary ideas must be entirely your own original work and not breach any copyright or third party rights. Entries not complying with this rule will be disqualified. Proof may be required.

You must provide the BBC with your name and email address if you wish to enter this competition. The BBC will only ever use your personal details for the purposes of administering this competition, and will not publish them or provide them to anyone without your permission. The closing date for receipt of entries for this competition is midnight Tuesday 16th September, 2008. Those who are short listed will be notified by Friday 19th September, 2008. If you are short-listed and we are unable to contact you via the email address you provide within 1 day we reserve the right to withdraw your entry and offer the place in the final to a runner up at our discretion.

A panel of judges will decide on the short list and eventual finalists. The panel's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. In short listing the judges will consider quality of the documentary idea, originality, practicality and understanding of the target audience (13- 19 year olds).

In the case of a short listed entrant or winner withdrawing their entry we will offer the opportunity to a runner up at our discretion.

The prize consists of the opportunity to produce a short documentary in conjunction with BBC Blast NI. The prize must be taken as stated. There will be no cash alternatives and the prize is not transferable.

The BBC does not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries due to the internet or postal service, for whatever reason. Such entries will not be eligible for consideration. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.

Entrants must supply full details as required above, and comply with all rules to be eligible for the prize. No responsibility is accepted for ineligible entries or entries made fraudulently.

This competition is not open to employees or contractors of the BBC, any person directly or indirectly involved in the BBC or the running of the competition, or their direct family members.

The BBC reserves the right to cancel this competition at any stage, or change any of the rules or procedures if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside its control.
