BBC Blast & NEELB SoundStage

Four fantastic bands were selected by the NEELB to perform live on Friday 7th November in BBC Blackstaff Studios, the same studios that have hosted performances by U2 & Ash. As well as playing in front of a studio audience, their performances were being broadcast LIVE on freeview, digital cable & satellite.

They were coached in performance by Matt McGinn, formally of Laya, who has played with Foy Vance, Duke Special, Snow Patrol, Franz Ferdinand & Republic of Loose, to name just a few.

That's not all! These four lucky groups were given the opportunity to record a song and have each made a video, also broadcast as part of the show! What more could you want!

The entire show was crewed, presented and produced by young people between 13 & 19.

This was be the opportunity of a lifetime for young people who were running the entire show, with a little help and advice from a team of experienced BBC professionals.

They spent three days learning all there is to know about cameras, VT editing, floor management, audience wrangling, vision mixing, lighting and sound before putting it to good use producing soundstage live on tv, on line and in front of a studio audience.
