newsline reports

Sonya

Sonya is 16 years old. She was a presenter on the Newsline stories and has been a Headliners member for nearly two years.

She says, “I really enjoyed the experience and it was a great thrill to be the presenter of two stories. The stories I worked on where the “Geographical Connundrums” story and the “Attention Seekers” story. I really enjoyed the whole experience and learned a huge amount in a very short space of time.

It was the first time I had ever been in the BBC and a great experience to work with top professionals. The BBC picture editor, Michael Simon, was great to work with and his professionalism and patience taught me a lot about the skills that you need to succeed in broadcasting. Having experienced working for broadcast it is my ambition to be a broadcast journalist.
