Below are a selection of lesson plan ideas for you to bring alive the data and information from this website in the classroom.

Lesson plan 1 – How does humidity affect peregrine falcons?

Can you predict the weather by the humidity? Humidity is wetness in the atmosphere. It describes the concentration of water vapor in the air and can make the temperature of the surrounding air feel like it is warmer than the actual temperature. Examine the humidity of the two quarries – which quarry is the wetter? Can you predict which quarry is the warmer, and why? Why are hot destinations in the world so humid, even though it rarely rains there?

Lesson plan 2 – How does temperature affect peregrine falcons?

Can you tell whether temperature affects the brooding of Peregrines? Sometimes, it has been noted that warmer weather does affect Peregrines – for example, earlier brooding seasons, chicks not being interested in being brooded and so on. But can you tell whether temperature has made a difference to our two sets of peregrines?
