SAM MAGUIRE

Tyrone claimed their third All Ireland title with a nailbiting victory over the favourites, Kerry. Tyrone manager, Mickey Harte, said memories of Tyrone's defeat at the hands of Kerry 22 years before had spurred his team on: "Kerry stopped Tyrone's first All-Ireland - we had to stop their three in a row." Ruth McDonald reports on the team's homecoming in Omagh. Teresa Craig joined fans at Sigerson's GAA Club in Strabane for a nailbiting match.

Even before the fianal, towns and villages across Tyrone were bedecked in red and white, including Strabane as Teresa Craig reports.

Ballymagroarty Parish Priest, Sean McKenna, was one of thousands on their way to indulge in a spot of adoration at the hallowed ground of Croke Park. Paul McFadden spoke to him, along with Aidan Harkin of Strabane Sigersons, and also Mickey Harte himself.

There's some tension in the office of Tim Finnegan, a Kerry man who works in Derry - with a Tyrone woman. Paul asked if he was going to the game.

Enda McClafferty on the Morning Programme spoke to two rivals - veteran commentator, and fan of the Kingdom, Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh as well as Tyrone fan (and MLA) Barry McElduff.

The Sam Maguire trophy got its first big clean-up in 25 years ahead of Tyrone's clash with Kerry. And Enda McClafferty spoke to its creator, silversmith, Des Byrne.

Tyrone captain, Brian Dooher, spoke to Ritchie Kelly after he was named the BBC Radio Foyle - Bank of Ireland - Sports Personality of the Month for September 2008.

Taxi Driver (text): Hi, Sarah talking about driving - does this city not have the strangest park and ride system? You drive into what is a stone's throw from the city centre and park your car and then get a bus to town.
