Retired from the corporate world, now own a surf shop and a small grocery store ½ block off the beach.


Where and why did you start surfing?
San Diego, Ca., my dad taught me, loved the ocean, seemed like the thing to do.

Any surfing honours, comp wins etc?
Only in my own mind…

Your fave board: quiver me timbers?
I own a surf shop!! I have about 15 personal boards, each with their own story, right now, I really like my Custom 10’ Linden diamond tail and my 10’ custom Greek.

Gary Linden

Best thing about surfing:
Keeps my mind straight, and the great escape from real life. Love the feeling.

Music: Blues, Classic rock, Reading: Clive Cussler, Movies: Animal House, Blues Brothers, Step into Liquid. TV shows: 24, History, Discovery.


Any ambition as a surfer?
At this point in my life, just to keep doing it.

Ireland and N. Ireland
