3 sentences that describe you/what you do: Love my family. Work hard. Surf when allowed.


Where and why did you start surfing? Brighton Pier, 1991. Working on the building sites in London. Sharing a house with a cork engineer who had two board and two suits. He went away every weekend and I tagged along one weekend and got hooked.

Any surfing honours, comp wins etc? Happiest surfer in the lineup everytime!

Your fave board: quiver me timbers?Longboard 9'6'' Roger Tout, 6'8'' Roger Tout flyer. Maui Bodyboard.

"Surfing is getting more popular in Ireland for sure". Discuss: The cold weather and inconsistent waves will keep it to the hardcore and foolhardy. Dont sweat it.

Most surf friendly pubs / gigs / eateries:

Kennys Lahinch, Strand Bar Sligo, Bridge Bar- Chasin Bull Bundoran, Murphs Tramore, O'Donovans Clonakilty, Harbour Bar Portrush.

Favourite Surfer/s and why: John Mc Carthy-living legend and Clare Wannabe!

Best thing about surfing: Gettin wet and feeling the rush on the take off.

Radiohead live in the Olympia, Surfers Journal, Longer, Laird, Litmus.

Any ambition as a surfer?: To get barrelled and look up!To pass on the amazing thrill of surfing to my kids.

Dream surf trip: Hawaii!
