How long you surfing? 10 Years

3 sentences that describe you/what you do:

I sell cars and vans for VW at the moment, and teach a bit of surfing part time with Iain Gilmore in his Adventure one surf school, mainly to keep me in touch with ISA etc, and to break the monotony of sales....Love the sea, been sailing since I was 10, ran watersports centres/sailing clubs for most of my 20's, travelled NZ, Indo etc, love the ocean, love to surf.

Where/Why did you start surfing?

Delphi adv centre, was working there, got into surfing, 10 years back

Quiver (ie detail/s of your board/s), plus your fave board:

9' 1" Nigel Semmens triple string custom long board, sweet board
6'6" westbay single fin retro, fat and fun
6'8" 3 fin 'Hydraflite@ custom fat short board, custom, bought in Raglan, such a sweet board, and such a sweet wave..:)

"Surfing is getting more popular in Ireland for sure". Discuss:
More popular than ever for sure, and as a typically selfish surfer, I'd like them to all go away, but seeing as that's not going to happen, best join em , hence involvement with Iain's school, and haven't been able to as yet, but when time permits I'll join the NW surf club too. The growth of the sport is inevitable, and I believe it is vital that we ALL have an input into controlling, educating etc. When abroad, I found in NZ they had a very positive attitude towards other surfers, through clubs, info etc, as a result very little agro, but in other countries, not so much good attitude, or involvement, hence agro.

Most surf friendly pubs / gigs / eateries:

I like the bridge bar bundoran

Favourite Surfer/s and why:
Slater, pure commitment, very impressive

Best thing about surfing:

Space, freedom, peace

Your top music/reading/movies/tv/radio, surf or otherwise:

The Big Blue, a beautiful movie and a must for all water lovers

Any ambition as a surfer?
Deeper and faster.

Dream surf trip:
6 months to cruise Asia

Anything to declare?

I wouldn't see surfing for me as a sociable activity, I don't surf for the craic with others, or to meet folk, in fact the quieter the better, for me. Having said that, I've made some great friends through surfing.

Andrea: My husband, children and I were viciously attacked by snowballers. These are not children. They broke car windscreens last year. Is there no-one who can help?
