| Here's all you ever needed
to know about James, in his own words...
Enjoys Radio Foyle because of...
...the camaraderie in the great university of life.
Favourite recording artist:
probably Dolly Parton.
Favourite holiday destination:
The great US of A. When will you send me there?
3 desert island essentials:
A camcorder, a laptop and a solar device for recharging the batteries.
With the camcorder I'd record my experiences - with the laptop
I'd write my scripts and notes. Then when I'd get back I'd be
all set to start editing my 10 part survival guide for TV. (BBC
of course!)
Anything to declare?
I grew up on a farm outside Belfast and started working life
as a message boy at 29 Bedford Street, opposite the BBC. I always
wanted to work in that big building. I was a minister of religion
for 25 years with churches in Belfast, Kilkeel and Londonderry.
I started with the BBC in 1986 and at the same time founded my
own TV/video production company. Am proud to be the only man to
get an interview from Mary Robinson on her visit to Northern Ireland
as President of Ireland (it's true). I have enjoyed great working
trips to over a dozen countries and about 25 US states. It's tough
but it's better than digging sheuchs!
