COUNCIL "RESTRUCTURING"

Derry City Council's Chief Executive, Valerie Watts, unveiled plans for radical restructuring of the council - just two years before Derry and Strabane Councils are due to merge in a new "supercouncil". But trade unionists say they weren't consulted, and are threatening industrial action.

Paul McFadden asked the Chief Executive of Derry City Council, Valerie Watts, if she had been hired to "do a job" on the council.

Paddy Casey of the Public Service Union, NIPSA, says the union feel they have no option but to oppose the proposals.

The Chief Executive of Strabane District Council, Philip Faithfull, says he was not consulted about Valerie Watts' plans for what would happen after RPA.
