SPRINGWATCH POETRY COMPETITION

 

The Springwatch poetry competition was run by the Western Education & Library Board. On Springwatch Festival day, the winners of the adult and juinor competition where annouced. Read the winning poems below.

 

Adult Winners

(1st) Tree by Dominic Cogan, Naas, Co Kildare

(2nd) Stoat Song by Heather Newcombe, Ballycastle, Co Antrim

 

(3rd) The Midas Touch by Rosemary Quinn, Buncrana, Co Donegal

 

Junior Winners

(1st) A New World by Carol-Anne O’Kane, Thornhill College, Derry

(2nd) After Dark by Amy O'Hara, Thornhill College, Derry

 

(3rd) Forest In My Head by Philip Canny, Lumen Christi College, Derry
