SPRINGWATCH POETRY COMPETITION

First Place

A New World

by Carol-Anne O’Kane

I saw a place
From Outer Space
Full of darkness
Machinery and technology
Control the economy.
Black seas and multi-coloured trees.
Metal men with smoking ears
Alien like creatures
That control the years.
It’s a strange looking planet,
I care to admit,
I’m lucky I don’t live in a place like it.

Taxi Driver (text): Hi, Sarah talking about driving - does this city not have the strangest park and ride system? You drive into what is a stone's throw from the city centre and park your car and then get a bus to town.
