EPILEPSY

The mother of an epileptic man beaten with sledgehammers and iron bars in Strabane says her son's lucky to be alive. The 25-year-old received injuries to his arms and legs when three masked men attacked him in a house in Carlton Drive. His mother, who didn't want to be identified, told Teresa Craig that her son suffered from two forms of epilepsy - one of them so severe that a blow, during the attack, could have killed him.
