GATES

A gang of up to 40 people forcibly removed gates that were erected to help curb anti-social behaviour in the Fahan Street area of the Bogside. The action followed a protest organised by the Irish Republican Unity Forum against the measure, which was taken by the Northern Ireland Office in response to problems in the area. BBC Radio Foyle's reporter, Teresa Craig, has been speaking to some local residents.
