COMMUNITY HERO

A local man who contracted polio when he was 18 months old, and cannot use his legs, has been nominated as an “active community hero” by the active families programme.  Davy Cregan, from Creggan, spent years gaining weight and becoming increasingly depressed, befire he decided he had to accept his illness and try to lose weight to regain his life.

He spoke to Mark Patterson in studio, along with the man who nominated him for the award, George McGowan.
