Gordon Ramsay Fact File

Personal Life

Gordon was signed by Glasgow Rangers at the age of 15 but he didn't make it as a pro. Instead he took a course in hotel management.

After working with many famous chefs, Marco Pierre White and Albert Roux to name but two, Gordon took a year off at the age of 26 to cook on media tycoon Reg Grundy's yacht.

Cool Credentials
Gordon is a lover of speed and has owned Ferrari's, Aston Martins and has a penchant for Ducatti motor bikes. All part of his macho image.

Did You Know?

In 1998 Gordon set up his first, independently owned restaurant, 'Gordon Ramsey', and won his 3 Michelin stars at the age of 33.

Gordon once turned AA Gill and Joan Collins away from his restaurant.

Gordon thinks chefs Antony Worrall Thompson and Brian Turner constitute 'the Teletubbies'.

Six bankers spent an amazing £44,000 on vintage wines at one of Ramsay's restaurants.

BBC Ground Force's Charlie Dimmock beat Ramsay by 8 minutes at the last London Marathon.

Gordon is rumoured to be making a television show where he teaches criminals to cook.
