Daily
Express Ten Pound Cruises
And here’s a question for you -
when is an offer of a £10 cruise not really an offer of a
£10 cruise – when it’s with the Daily Express.
On Your Behalf finds out are newspaper promotions really what they
seem…..We hear from one listener, Marie from Castlewellan,
who collected the tokens, sent them off and waited for notification
of her cruise dates. But it wasn’t as simple as that and she
was left feeling disappointed and let down.
So, On Your Behalf got in touch with the Daily Express they issued
this statement –
‘We regret any problems
that may have been faced by readers of the Daily and Sunday Express
who entered the £10 Cruise offer last year. The promotions
company that provided the offer encountered a series of problems
including several major hurricanes in the Caribbean last year, which
caused huge scheduling problems. Together with the company, we are
working hard to find ways to satisfy all readers who applied for
this offer, although it must be pointed out that none of them are
out of pocket in any way. By the end of the week all participants
will have received a letter offering alternatives to the cruise
should they wish to take this up. Mrs Cairns has been contacted
and will be booked on a cruise within 48 hours.’
So – a happy ending
in this case - BUT beware – remember, there’s usually
always a catch if you’ve had a similar
