DIXON'S WAGES BLUNDER

School boy still waiting for his Christmas Pay - Is it good enough?

How would you feel if your employer told you your salary had been paid into someone else’s bank account and you wouldn’t be paid until they give it back! Well you’d be furious, wouldn’t you?

That’s exactly what’s happened to a North Down school boy who’d been working over Christmas for electrical retailer Dixons in the Bloomfield Shopping Centre, and his mother is furious!

So of course we asked Dixon’s what on earth was going on! Dixons told On Your Behalf.

"We're sorry that the money we attempted to pay Rory has yet to reach his account. In cases such as this, the bank involved will investigate the mispayment with both customers for security reasons. As soon as the bank confirms a genuine mistake has been made, they will refund us and we will redirect the payment to Rory's correct account. We're disappointed it's taking so long for these checks to be completed, but we are in continual contact with the bank to ensure Rory is paid as quickly as possible."

Which is odd, because just yesterday Rory rang his branch and they know nothing about his problem!

Well is this good enough? Who should be getting this sorted – Dixon’s or the bank? And should Rory have to wait for his money when the mistake was not of his making?

Good news - Rory has finally got his Christmas pay - in time for Easter! It's just a pity he had to wait so long.
