On Your Behalf hears from the caravanners who’ve been
told to hitch up and get off their site!
The row over a caravan site in Donegal has been rumbling on for
weeks now. The situation has developed because of a long standing
planning problem at a site at Dundoun near Downings. It’s
been ruled that the site is illegal - the caravanners have been
told to get their mobile homes off the site by the end of April
- and last month a Donegal Circuit Judge ordered four caravan site
owners to be taken to Mountjoy Prison for their failure to have
the caravans removed before now!
Outraged mobile home owners picketed a meeting of Donegal County
Council in protest and the matter may go to the High Court. On Your
Behalf looks at what legal rights and redress they may have, and
talks to one of the caravanners.
