WARM
HOMES SCHEME
The Warm Homes Scheme was introduced by the DSD to tackle fuel poverty, and new service providers have been appointed - H&A Mechanical Services Ltd and Bryson Charitable Group - who are taking over from EAGA.
The scheme will target householders in receipt of a qualifying benefit with no central heating, solid fuel heating, Economy 7 or Liquid Petroleum Gas heating.
Margaret Ritchie said: “Since its introduction in 2001, over 70,000 homes across Northern Ireland have benefited from a range of measures which have significantly improved their energy efficiency. I want to do everything in my power to champion the rights of the vulnerable and those in poverty. I want to target resources in a way which has maximum impact within our communities.”
If you had already applied to the Warms Home Scheme before the changes, unfortunately you will have to reapply as the waiting lists have not been carried over.
Anyone who would like further information about the Warm Homes Scheme should call 0800 988 0559. Calls will be directed to the scheme manager responsible for the area in which the client lives.
