Six Quick Writing Tips

  1. Jump into your story quickly - don't dawdle.
  2. Use dialogue sparingly - it's hard to read on radio.
  3. A fancy passage with lots of adjectives and adverbs that you love to bits is probably an indulgence. Murder your darlings
  4. Don't fake emotion - it always shows.
  5. Write about stuff you're not really sure you should let other people know about. That's often where the best stuff is - deep down.
  6. Ignore all advice if it gets between you and good writing!
