On Saturday Magazine this week, we're discussing 'parenting' with a leading author calling on parents to take back control and stop trying to be their children's friend.

As the Belfast Festival at Queen's gets underway - would a fringe festival running alongside it bring the arts to a wider audience...

We'll be speaking to the man who invented the wind-up radio Trevor Bayliss as he encourages more young people to get creatiive and inventive through science and technology.

How far would you go and how much would you pay for a good night's sleep? We'll hear of the lengths one couple went to buy the bed of their dreams here in Northern Ireland.

Is going to the cinema the same treat for children these days as it was for older generations? We'll have the director of 'Bend It Like Beckham' on her determination to put the passion back into children's cinema.

And as the shoulder pads make a come-back... are they the best fashion invention ever?

Paula McIntyre is making a savoury mince pie and we'll have all that's new, old and quirky in our music, magazine and food reviews.
