Our Group was founded on the heels of a Creative Writers Workshop held in Down Arts Centre in Downpatrick. Faced with no other opening for our craft in the area, we decided to regroup and meet weekly in the Downpatrick Library.
The Library Staff have been more than accommodating for our needs, and each week we submit written short stories or poetry for the group to each take home and offer a critique on the following week.
We have 9-10 members which makes for a good number of responses on our work, and we have all become good friends in our shared passion for writing.
We keep each other abreast of related web sites and competitions and encourage each other to enter as many as possible. Recently, one of our members, Ms Sheena Wilkinson won the Brian Moore award hosted by the Creative Writers Network.
