Here on series 2 of SRL we’ll be guided by a native of each American
city that we visit.
 San
Francisco
Nikki Ragsdale was born in California and grew up in San Francisco. On
a visit to Ireland, she fell in love with the sean nós singing
and traditional music and since then has learned Irish and sings in the
sean nós style. Nikki will shortly be producing a CD of her own.
California
 Shanti
Hofshi was born and raised in south California. He has lived most of his
life in San Diego where he now lives. He was delighted to find out that
there was a Irish language class in his area and since then he is now
a fluent speaker.

Francisco
Tadhg Canniffe has recently returned to live in San Francisco having spent
two years living in Indreabhan, County Galway. However, work commitments
forced him to make a decision to return to America and SRL joined him
on a short tour of the area
New
York City
Alexei Kondratiev was born in New York to a Russian Father and French
mother. Being a fluent Irish speaker, he writes about Celtic languages
and culture and also teaches Irish.
 Boston
SRL met up with Máirín Uí Chéide during the
Irish Connections Festival in Boston.
Washington
This week we travel to Washington
DC and meet Liam Ó Caiside who shows us round this
lovely city and its hinterland.
Chicago
 SRL
meets Barney Gallagher fifty years on. He takes a boat trip on Lake Michigan
with Michelle and steps back to his youth.
New
York on 11/09/01
 This
week Daithí Mac Lochlainn from New York recounts his journey as
he made his way from the World Trade Centre on the morning of September
11th 2001.

Dame
We met the famous Notre Dame football
 team
and their fans, otherwise known as “The Fighting Irish”. And
this is the most famous and successful Catholic University in the United
States of America.
