BLAS Beo ó Nua Eabhrac...Arís!

 

Chuir Lynette Fay na bróga is fearr uirthi agus d’eitil sí amach go Nua Eabhrac chuig Comhdháil ‘Fís Ghaeilge Mheiriceá Thuaidh’ a bhí á reachtáil ag Glór na nGael idir an 16-18ú Bealtaine 2008 ins an Óstán Affinia i lár Manhattan.  Sé a bhí ins an chomhdháil seo ná seans do ghrúpaí Gaeilge sna Stát Aontaithe agus i gCeanada a dtodhchaí a phlé le heagrais dheonacha Ghaeilge agus le heagrais Ghaeilge an Stáit in Éirinn.

Chomh maith leis sin, don darna huair taobh istigh de cheithre mhí dhéag, Craoladh BLAS beo beathaioch ó stiúideónna an BBC i lár chathair Nua Eabhrac.

 

Ar an chlár labhair Lynette  le hAralt Mac Giolla Chainnigh.  Is as Kingston, Ceanada ó dhúchas d’Aralt ach tá grá aige don Ghaeilge agus anois tá talamh ceannaithe aige i gCeanada agus tá se ar intinn aige Gaeltacht a bhunú ansin.

Bhuail Elaine Ní Bhraonáin isteach chuig an stiúidéo chomh maith. Tá Elaine ina mhúinteoir leis an City University of New York (CUNY) agus tá baint mhór aici leis an Ghaeilge san Irish Arts Centre.  Tá colún rialta ag Elaine ar an Irish Echo sin an fáth a dtugann Lynette ‘Carrie Bradshaw na Gaeilge’ uirthi!!

Bhí Ceannasai Ghlor na nGael Lorcan Mac Gabhann agus Oifigeach Forbartha Ghlor na nGael, Daragh O Tuama i gcuideachta Lynette ins an stiúidéo fosta.

 

Lynette Fay slipped on her best pair of high heels and jetted off to New York to The Irish Language Vision for North America Conference which was held in the Affinia Hotel, in the middle of Manhattan. This conference was a chance for Irish groups in America and Canada to discuss their future with different Irish organisations.

For the second time in fourteen months, Lynette broadcast live from the BBC Studios in New York where she spoke to Elaine Ní Bhraonáin, A New York Socialite and Irish Language Teacher or as Lynette has nicknamed her, The Carrie Bradshaw of the Irish Language.

Aralt Mac Giolla Chainnigh joined Lynette in Studio. Arailt is a native of Kingston Canada who has embraced the Irish language and has bought land in Canada with a view to setting up an Irish speaking region there.

Lynette was also joined in studio by Ceannasai Ghlór na nGael Lorcan Mac Gabhann and Oifigeach Forbartha Ghlór na nGael, Daragh Ó Tuama
