INIMIRCIGH SNA STÁIT AONTAITHE

Statue of LibertyTá thart faoi 12 milliún duine ina gcónaí go neamhdhleathach sna Stáit Aontaithe agus is Éireannaigh iad cuid mhaith acu. Tá bille ag dhul tríd an seanad faoi láthair a dhéanfaidh iarracht cuidiú leis na daoine seo a bheith mar shaoránaigh sa tír agus is é an rud is suntasaí faoin bhille ná go bhfuil an páirtí poblachtach agus an páirtí daonlathach araon ag tabhairt tacaíochta dó. Tá April Drew ar dhuine de na daoine as Éirinn nach bhfuil stádas oifigiúil acu agus labhair sí le hAntaine Ó Donnaile faoi na fadhbanna a bhíonn aici agus faoin bhille úr.

Measures are going through the Senate in Washington to deal with the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the USA, many of them Irish. A new agreement reached by White House officials and both republican and democratic senators could offer legal status to these immigrants. One of the thousands of Irish undocumented in the States is April Drew and she talked to Antaine Ó Donnaile about the problems this creates for her and about the new bill.
