AG TÓGÁIL CLAINNE LE GAEILGE
Le
blianta beaga anuas tá méadú suntasach tagtha ar
líon na dtuismitheoirí atá ag tógáil
clainne le Gaeilge i gceantar Bhéal Feirste. An bhfuil go leor
áiseanna tacaíochta ann dóibh, agus cad iad na deacrachtaí
a bhíonn acu? Agus cad chuige a bhfuil sé chomh tábhachtach
dóibh go pearsanta go mbeadh Gaeilge mar theanga an tí?
San eagrán speisialta seo de Bhlas, labhraíonn Eoghan ar
dtús le Máire Zepf, bean atá ag tógáil
teaghlaigh s'aici ní go dátheangach ach go trítheangach!
In recent years there has been an appreciable increase in the number
of parents raising their children through Irish in the Belfast area. In
this special edition of Blas, Eoghan Ó Néill calls in on
some of these families to see how they are getting on. Are there adequate
support services available for them? What sort of difficulties have to
be overcome? And why is raising their kids with Irish important to them
personally? To kick things off, Eoghan speaks first to Máire Zepf,
who is raising her own children not bilingually but trilingually!
