In 1997 the band Lúnasa released their first self titled CD and from then on, they have become one of Ireland’s most successful traditional music bands.  Lúnasa have just released their seventh album, “The Story so Far”.  Yes, it certainly is the story so far as this album is a compilation album with music from all of their previous albums including two new recordings, ‘Morning Nightcap’ and ‘The Last Pint’ (A re-recording of ‘Aibreann’). 

Band members, Cillian Valley and Trevor Hutchinson who are currently in New York took time out from their busy tour schedule to talk to Lynette Fay about the new album.
They also spoke about ‘The Leitrim Project’ as they are the first Artists in Residence for Co Leitrim to promote and develop traditional music in this region.
