Short Film Competition Rules
- Frames of Mind ( “the Competition”) is organised by the British Broadcasting Corporation (“the BBC”) in association with Rethink and the QFT.
- In consideration of the BBC agreeing to assess entries to the competition each Entrant by entering licenses the BBC for itself and those authorised by it the exclusive right to use an entry for communication to the public (which includes broadcasting and internet use) and all other rights for the purposes of the Competition.
- By submitting us your entry you are agreeing that the BBC may use or broadcast all or parts of your film in any way (for example, on TV, radio, online, in interactive BBC services, on the Blast mobile WAP site, at roadshows, public screenings and on both permanent and temporary Big Screens.
- The BBC reserves the right to refuse any entry for any reason at its absolute discretion.
- The decisions of the judges are final. Neither correspondence nor discussion concerning any decision shall be entered into.
- No entries will be returned and shall become the property of the BBC. It is therefore advisable for each Entrant to retain a copy where appropriate.
- Each entry must be completed by a group consisting of at least two people and not exceeding five people. Entries must be the sole author of the entry group (except where more specifically provided).
- Entrants must submit only their own original work and agree that this will not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third party.
- Entrants may submit only one entry.
- Entrants permit the BBC to edit or change entries in any way it may in its sole discretion consider necessary for the purposes of use in the Competition.
- Entrants, by entering the Competition, waive in favour of the BBC and those authorised by it any so-called “moral rights” they may have in relation to an entry which waiver shall subsist for the period of the Competition.
- The description of the awards prizes and selection process in any Competition literature or other medium is not binding and may be varied by the BBC and the BBC may make additional awards or prizes but it shall not be obliged to make any award or prize if it considers it inappropriate to do so.
- Entrants must be between 13 and 19 years of age.
- Entry to the Competition by Entrants is done at their own risk. Attendance by Entrants at any Event staged by the BBC and travel to and from any such Event is also at the Entrant's own risk and the BBC accepts no responsibility or liability in this regard.
- The BBC reserves the right to seek and issue publicity on behalf of Entrants.
- Acceptance of these rules is a condition of entry and receipt of an entry by the BBC amounts to acceptance of the rules.
- The BBC shall not be obliged to make use of any entry and shall not be liable for any loss of publicity or enhancement of reputation.
- Entries are made at an Entrant's own expense and the BBC shall not be liable to reimburse any expenses incurred in making an entry.
- Entries must not contain defamatory or obscene material.
- Unsuccessful Entrants may not be contacted by the BBC due to the large number of entries anticipated. Information on the short-listed entries will be available on www.bbc.co.uk/ni/healthyminds
- Closing date for entries is Thursday 15th March 2007.
- You must provide the BBC with your name, address, age and e-mail details if you wish to enter this competition. The BBC will only ever use your personal details for the purposes of administering this competition, and will not publish them or provide them to anyone without your permission. - This competition is not open to BBC employees or contractors or any person involved in the running of the competition, or their immediate family members.
- If a winning entrant is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so the BBC reserves the right to either offer the prize to the next best entry, or to re-offer the prize in any future competition on bbc.co.uk.
- Entrants consent to being filmed and recorded by the BBC where required for the Competition and for films or recordings made pursuant to this rule being used for all purposes of the Competition.
