Healthy Minds Event 12-4pmListen Again
Lakeland Youth Centre

The first Healthy Minds event took place in the Lakeland Youth Forum in Enniskillen. Local organisations and support groups were on hand to offer advice on matters such as counselling, dealing with addiction and ways to improve general health and wellbeing. The Samaritans, Nexus, the Community Mental Health Team and Fermanagh Active Living were just some of those present in the Forum, and throughout the afternoon chef Regina Shallow demonstrated some easy ways to cook up treats for a healthy mind. Check out her recipes here

Workshops were also available for those attending the event. The Citizen’s Advice Bureau gave advice on budgeting, while those wanting to learn some simple relaxation techniques were able to sample yoga and colour breathing classes. Visitors to the forum were also able to spend time with Omagh writer Ann Colton. Ann was on site with the BBC RaW campaign explaining the benefits of reading and writing as forms of relaxation and stress relief. Click here to find out more about RaW

The BBC Bus was on hand offering free Digital photography taster sessions and we are pleased to announce that Ryan Crozier from Omagh was the winner of a free digital radio. Click here to read and hear more about what the Bus got up to.

The John Daly Show came live from the Forum and you can hear that programme again by clicking Listen Again
