Origions

Red Hand Luke is mad, bad and dangerous to know - and that’s his mother’s view. He has been plaguing Uncle Andy, and anyone else he comes into contact with, for as long as anyone can remember. The only time anyone got any peace was when Luke was in jail. Luke served 15 years inside. He was only sentenced to 10 but he got extra time for bad behaviour. The only thing that kept Luke sane in the jail was listening to his favourite star - Hugo Duncan. Sane is used here as a relative concept.

Politics
Luke is a Loyalist but he has no time for the complexities of politics because he walks in the path of the Lord. He is a committed Christian though he does have a little trouble with the 'love thy neighbour, turn the other cheek, blessed be the meek, thou shalt not be a violent loon’ parts of the normal Christian philosophy. Plus he also believes in aliens. In 'Bonfire of the Insanities' Luke built a huge 12th bonfire - outside Uncle Andy’s house - to attract aliens. He says they arrived, but nobody believes him, especially as Luke claims the aliens turned out to be Catholics.

Fashion
Fashion- the 70s are back. Modern kids pay a fortune for trendy flares monkey hats and bomber jackets. Luke however just never bought any new clothes since 1974.
