Unit 3- The Linen Industry in Northern Ireland

Introduction

This unit looks at the effect the Linen Industry has had on the people and places in Northern Ireland. The personal experience of those who worked in the linen industry is used to help bring this aspect of the local community to life. Pupils are encouraged to look for evidence of the industry in the local area through buildings and placenames.

  • Places then and know, how our identity has been shaped by local influences (Place - History)
