Welcomed back into the bosom of his family once more, Eddie McMullen (Ricky Tomlinson) should feel at peace with the world.

His wife and daughters now believe his protestations that he’s not Frank’s (Tom Ellis) Dad because he’s taken a DNA test. He must be innocent. Unfortunately Eddie can’t bring himself to confess that he bottled it and ran out of the clinic before the deed could be done. Lol (John Henshaw) fears for Eddie’s well being if Ronnie (Rachel Davies) finds out.

Meanwhile, Eddie is trying to get to the truth by contacting old mates – does anyone remember what happened at the party on the night Liverpool won the European Cup in 1977? All he remembers is waking up next to Frank’s Mum, Barbara, on a friend’s sofa…

Back in the cut throat world of private investigations, Eddie and Frank – posing as telephone repairmen - check out a suspected mobile ‘phone scam at a sex line, Hot Housewives. While most of the ‘ hot housewives’ are aging grannies, Eddie is dismayed to see Mandy (Joanne Frogatt), an old school friend of Laura’s, talking dirty down a telephone line. Why is a lovely young girl like that involved in such a seedy world? Eddie and Frank are soon to find out.

Back in the McMullen household, Ronnie – now feeling sorry for the fatherless Frank - has decided to invite him round for a family meal. Could it prove to be Eddie’s last supper?
